Nature and Culture is a series of 49 two-sided drawings on hand-made translucent paper I made myself from highly beaten abaca fiber.  Each drawing is 18” x 18” and presents an animal portrait on one side, and an object of material culture on the other side.  The drawings are designed to be displayed on a metal grid, hanging in open space, and viewable from both sides.  The position of the individual drawings within the grid is flexible.  The examples below show recto and verso next to each other.
